FOX 4 Parenting If your baby won't stop crying, or won't take a nap, some moms say they've found a solution. It's all about Yoga!
The method was created by Sudbury's Helen Garabedian. She's a Yoga teacher and infant development expert.
"And, I took field of Yoga and took the field on infant development especially when it comes to developmental movement and blended them together," said Garabedian.
Helen trains instructors to teach "Itsy Bitsy" classes. Infants from six weeks to toddlers age four can do them. She said babies actually begin doing Yoga poses on their own, as they grow.
"So, I've studied a lot of infant anatomy physiology and different movement patterns they go into for neurological patterning," said Garabedian.
Gabrielle Brennan began "Itsy Bitsy" Yoga to show daughter Brooke an active lifestyle.
"There's the skeptical in-laws that ask you, 'Is the child way too young to be doing Yoga?' and I think (they're) never too young to be aware of your body," said Brennan.
It was magic according to mother Amy Perlman. "Sam we could put down had to be held all the time," said Perlman. She is convinced "Itsy Bitsy" Yoga cured Sam's colic.
Other mom's swear napping is better after Yoga. "He sleeps great at night but not during day, and its working, he's tired now."
It's a class taught in 11 countries and a lot of moms do it at home.
